Pinnacle Remote Data Backup Service

We are delighted to introduce you to our new Data Backup Service.

Until now Actual Systems have been monitoring your data backup status and, on occasion, have set up additional ad-hoc backups to our servers when your backup device appears to be malfunctioning.

With our new Data Backup Service this will no longer be necessary. Run on a nightly basis to ensure maximum data security, Actual Systems has successfully developed and tested a program designed to transfer data directly from Pinnacle sites and have it stored here at our offices on one of our dedicated secure backup servers.*

Since many of you have probably experienced some headaches or frustrations with backups at one time or another, we believe that collecting and storing your data offsite here at Actual Systems could give you additional security and peace of mind should you encounter a data loss or major catastrophe. Without off-site backup, fire, theft and vandalism can be crippling to a company reliant on their computer systems.

Please note that the Remote Data Backup Service is only available to existing Actual Systems customers.


Two Tier-options are currently available:

Tier 1 – Pinnacle Data Storage:
Cost - $75/month (incl. GST)

This program is designed for offsite data storage (here at Actual Systems) and includes nightly updates and data warehousing. Email confirmation will be sent out to both the client and the Support Group at Actual Systems on a daily basis. Actual Systems will monitor and resolve issues using tape/DVD backups, and in the event of a data loss at your location, we will provide a copy of the site’s Pinnacle data via CD or Secure FTP transfer (usable for data restoration).


Tier 2 – Pinnacle Data Storage with Disaster Recovery**:
Cost - $125/month (incl. GST)

The Tier 2 program incorporates all the elements of the Tier 1 program, with the added benefit of a disaster recovery server being shipped to you, fully preloaded with your data. As in the Tier 1 program, email confirmation will be sent to both the client and the Support Group at Actual Systems on a daily basis. Actual Systems will also monitor and seek to resolve issues. In the event of a data loss at the client location, we will not only provide a copy of the site’s Pinnacle data, but that data will also be loaded on a recovery (loan) server that will be shipped directly and immediately to your site from our offices.

*   Please note that only your Pinnacle data is backed up on the Remote Data Backup Service. No images or documents are included in the backup file.

** The Tier 2 Program is subject to the following terms of use:
The client is responsible for all freight costs incurred in shipping the recovery server from Actual Systems to the client, as well as back to AS. If a recovery server is sent out, the client will have 72 hours to determine if their existing server can be repaired and/or if a new server must be obtained. If a client wishes to repair their existing server, they will have use of the AS-provided recovery server for a maximum of 20 days while their existing machine is repaired. Should the recovery server be needed beyond that period, the site will be charged a marginal fee, on a per day basis. If the recovery server is not returned within 30 days the site will be billed for the current replacement cost of the recovery unit. Should a client order a new server from Actual Systems, they may continue to use the recovery server until such time that their new (replacement) machine is delivered onsite.
